Human Rights and Equality Festival

In the Context of International Human Rights Day, the People's Advocate Office of the Republic of Moldova organized the "Human Rights and Equality Festival",an event dedicated to celebrating and promoting fundamental rights. The festival was held as part of the Human Rights and Equality Forum 2024, 3rd Edition, on December 10-11, 2024, at the Palace of the Republic. 10 și 11 decembrie 2024 în incinta Palatului Republicii.

As part of the collaboration memorandum with the People's Advocate Office, the ASEM Business Law Clinic actively participated in several activities during the event.

Organizations from across the country and development partners showcased their initiatives for protecting and promoting human rights through promotional stands. The ASEM Business Law Clinic presented its work in providing primary legal consultancy services to vulnerable social groups. Additionally, new partnerships were established with key institutions promoting legal education and the observance of human rights, which expressed interest in the Clinic's activities.

The festival attracted a diverse audience, including students, pensioners, and individuals eager to learn about their rights and how to protect them. Visitors received brochures with valuable information from various organizations whose mission is to promote and protect citizens' rights. They also engaged in direct discussions with institutional representatives.

Among the scheduled events was an activity dedicated to intellectual games, where students from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) were invited. A human rights quiz competition, organized by the Intellectual Games Center, brought together 16 teams composed of students and volunteers who tested their knowledge of human rights in a competitive and energetic atmosphere.

ASEM was represented by two teams consisting of Law students from the Faculty of General Economics and Law, who are also members of the ASEM Business Law Clinic.These teams showcased their knowledge of human rights, demonstrating ingenuity, logical thinking, and a competitive spirit, finishing in 6th and 7th places.

The ASEM team members had to recall not only their academic knowledge but also general cultural knowledge, such as the works of writers like Charles Dickens and Victor Hugo, revolutionary movements for human rights, and early advocates for women's rights.

Organizers expressed their gratitude for the participation and competitive spirit of ASEM's teams, extending an invitation for future collaborations, volunteer activities, and employment opportunities within institutions that promote and defend human rights.
